The 10 most affordable new vehicles in the network

“Starting at” means nothing until you know what the figure contains. Here are the ten least expensive new vehicles in the Groupe Beaucage network, ranked by the all-in price actually published, freight and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) included, with no temporary rebate, no monthly payment and no rate. What you get at that price, and what raises the bill.

The amounts below were surveyed in the network on . They are set by the manufacturers and are subject to change without notice: each model’s page at the dealership has the current amount.

Which price we compare, and why

A single vehicle carries three different figures depending on the page you look at, and they do not mean the same thing.

  • The bare MSRP: it excludes freight and preparation, and corresponds to nothing you actually pay.
  • The price after rebate: it includes a discount that changes every month, and gets old within a few weeks.
  • The all-in price: MSRP, freight, pre-delivery inspection (PDI), tire tax and air-conditioning tax. This is the one used in this ranking.

The price shown includes freight and pre-delivery inspection (PDI). Taxes and registration are extra.

The gap between the bare MSRP and the all-in price is not a constant you could add up yourself: across the ten models above, freight runs from $1,900 to $2,200 and preparation from $699 to $799. An all-in price is looked up, not calculated.

No manufacturer rebate has been deducted from these amounts. Current discounts live on the network’s offers page, which is updated every month.

What you really get at this price

The idea that the entry trim is stripped down belongs to another decade. Two examples, taken from the network dealerships’ pages.

The Hyundai Venue Essential, first in the ranking, comes standard with a 1.6 L Smartstream engine producing 121 horsepower with an IVT transmission, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning and automatic high beams.

The Kia K4 LX, third, advertises a 12.3-inch multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, smart cruise control with stop and go, a smart key with push-button start and remote start, heated front seats, LED headlights and air conditioning, on the least expensive trim in the range.

In other words: at this price level, you no longer choose between a new vehicle and the touchscreen. You choose between sizes, powertrains and all-wheel drive.

On current entry trims, the big screen and heated seats are no longer options.

The warranty is part of the price

Two vehicles at the same price are not covered the same way, a real value that people forget to compare.

Mitsubishi’s powertrain warranty, at 10 years or 160,000 km, is double that of the other two in both duration and distance. If you keep your vehicles a long time, it is a quantifiable argument in favour of the Mitsubishi RVR or the Eclipse Cross.

What raises the bill

The entry price is a starting point. Three levers move it away, and they can be quantified from the same survey.

The trim. The most powerful lever. In the September 23, 2026 survey, the Kia K4 starts at $27,051.50 in LX and climbs to $37,851.50 in GT-Line Turbo Limited: a $10,800 gap within a single lineup, more than from first to tenth in this ranking.

All-wheel drive. It costs less than you might think. Going from front-wheel drive to all-wheel drive costs $2,000 on the Kia Seltos as on the Mitsubishi RVR, and $2,100 on the Kia Sportage. Note that the Eclipse Cross, eighth in the ranking, comes with S-AWC all-wheel drive as standard from its ES trim, which explains a good part of its gap with the RVR.

The powertrain. The hybrid is paid for at purchase and recovered at the pump. The Kia Niro, ninth at $33,697 (as of September 23, 2026), is the only one in the ranking whose entry trim is a hybrid. Natural Resources Canada rates it at 4.8 L/100 km combined, and 4.4 L/100 km in FE trim, against 7.5 L/100 km for the Venue and 7.6 L/100 km for the front-wheel-drive Seltos. Over 20,000 km a year, the gap with the Venue is about 540 fewer litres of gas.

Between first and tenth in the ranking, the gap comes mostly from size and all-wheel drive.

The brands missing from the ranking

The network has nine manufacturer banners. This ranking covers four, Kia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi and INFINITI, those whose dealerships published a verifiable all-in price online as of September 23, 2026.

Nissan and Mazda do not publish an all-in price on their model pages. Their listings show a bare MSRP, which is not a price that can be advertised. Several of their models would nonetheless sit in the same range as this ranking: the Nissan Sentra, the Nissan Kicks and the Mazda3 are direct competitors of the Venue, the Elantra and the K4. For these models, the all-in price is available at the dealership: it is a question to ask, and the answer is immediate.

Genesis, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, also in the network, play in a price segment that does not concern this ranking.

Getting the vehicle into your budget

The all-in price is one number; what you actually pay depends on two other things.

The first is what your current vehicle is worth: a trade-in reduces the amount to finance. The network’s trade-in appraisal gives you a value based on your real information, with no obligation.

The second is financing. If your credit file complicates things (a repossession, a consumer proposal, bankruptcy, a short history, non-traditional income), every dealership in the network supports these files, on site, including for first, second and third chance credit. No approval is guaranteed and each application is reviewed case by case, but a reviewed application is better than an assumed refusal. The network explains how it works on its financing page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the least expensive new vehicle in the Groupe Beaucage network?

Among the models whose all-in price was published online as of September 23, 2026, it is the 2026 Hyundai Venue in Essential trim, starting at $25,120.50 (as of September 23, 2026). Since Nissan and Mazda do not publish their all-in price online, some of their models could fall in the same range.

Does the displayed price include freight and preparation?

Yes. All amounts include the MSRP, freight, preparation, the tire tax and the air-conditioning tax. Sales taxes and registration are extra.

Do these prices take manufacturer rebates into account?

No, deliberately. Rebates change every month whereas an article stays online for years. Current offers are on the network’s offers page.

How much does all-wheel drive cost on these models?

About $2,000 on the models surveyed: $2,000 on the Kia Seltos and on the Mitsubishi RVR, $2,100 on the Kia Sportage. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, for its part, offers it as standard from its entry trim.

Are these prices still current?

They were surveyed in the network on . Manufacturers change them without notice, and the price changes from one model year to the next. If you are reading this later, the model’s page at the dealership has the current amount.

Can I buy new if my credit file is difficult?

It is to be reviewed case by case. Every dealership in the network offers first, second and third chance credit. No approval is guaranteed in advance: the amount financed depends on the file, the trade-in and the vehicle.
