2027 Rogue Hybrid: the new Nissan e-POWER arrives this fall, here is what we know

On September 21, 2026, Nissan Canada unveiled the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid, the first Nissan e-POWER sold in the country. It is not a hybrid like the others: the gas engine never touches the wheels, it makes electricity for two electric motors that do all the work. Announced prices, trims, arrival schedule at the five Nissan dealerships of Groupe Beaucage: we go over it all, without inventing anything Nissan has not said yet. Checked on September 25, 2026.

At a glance

  • A new generation, not one more trim: body, grille, lights and cabin are all new. Nissan presents it as “a new type of hybrid vehicle in its class.”
  • e-POWER: a gas engine acts as a generator; two electric motors, one per axle, drive the wheels. All-wheel drive as standard in Canada. Nothing to plug in.
  • Fuel consumption: 5.9 L/100 km in the city, according to Nissan’s internal tests. That is a manufacturer estimate, not yet an official Canadian rating.
  • Prices announced by Nissan Canada, freight and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) included: from $42,845 (SV) to $53,845 (Platine). Taxes and registration are extra. As of September 25, 2026.
  • Arrival: the SR trim at dealerships in the fall of 2026; SV, SV Premium and Platine in early 2027.
  • What Nissan has not yet published for Canada: horsepower, torque, fuel tank capacity and the highway fuel consumption rating. We will add them when they come out, not before.

e-POWER: a gas engine that only makes electricity

In a conventional hybrid, the gas engine and the electric motor take turns turning the wheels, sometimes together, sometimes one without the other. Nissan’s e-POWER system does something else. The gas engine is never connected to the wheels: it runs only to recharge a small battery, which feeds two electric motors. One motor at the front, one at the back, which gives all-wheel drive as standard in Canada, with no driveshaft between the two.

In practice, you drive an electric vehicle — instant acceleration, silence, no gearbox hunting for its gear — but you fill up at the pump, as before. There is no outlet and no cable. Nissan has sold this technology since 2016 in other markets; the 2027 Rogue Hybrid is the first e-POWER offered in Canada.

Under the hood, the gas engine plays the role of a generator: it makes the current, the electric motors move the vehicle.

What it changes day to day, winter included

Nissan announces 5.9 L/100 km in the city, based on its own tests. The figure should be read with caution: it is a manufacturer estimate, the official Natural Resources Canada rating has not been published yet, and real-world consumption depends on how you drive. It is still telling for a compact all-wheel-drive SUV, especially in the city, where an ordinary gas engine uses the most and where electric drive shines.

For a buyer here, two things matter. First, all-wheel drive is standard, through two electric motors: no two-wheel-drive trim to avoid. Second, since there is nothing to plug in, you depend neither on a charger at home nor on electric range at −25 °C. The Rogue Hybrid fills up at the gas station, and the generator manages the battery.

Trims, announced prices and arrival schedule

Nissan Canada has published four trims, all with all-wheel drive. The amounts below are the selling prices announced by Nissan Canada on September 21, 2026: they include freight and pre-delivery inspection (PDI); taxes and registration are extra. The price shown at the dealership when the vehicle arrives will prevail, and it could move between now and then.

TrimAnnounced selling priceExpected arrival
SV TI$42,845Early 2027
SV Premium TI$45,845Early 2027
SR TI$50,845Fall 2026
Platine TI$53,845Early 2027

This schedule has a practical consequence: the first Rogue Hybrid you will see on the showroom floor will be the SR, the sporty-looking trim. Those who are after the SV, the SV Premium or the Platine will wait a few more months. The 2027 Rogue Hybrid page at Nissan de Sherbrooke will track trims and prices as they are confirmed.

Cabin and driver assistance

The interior does not look like the current Rogue either. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard; a 14.3-inch screen, with Google built in and the Google Gemini assistant, is available. Nissan announces an improved version of ProPILOT Assist and, as an option, automated lane changes as well as hands-free assistance in traffic jams. The details for each trim — which assistance is standard, which is optional — will be on the model sheet when you order.

Three Rogues on the showroom floor: which one is for you?

By early 2027, the Nissan dealerships in the network will have three Rogues side by side, and they are not three trims of the same vehicle.

The question to ask yourself is simple: can you plug in a vehicle every night? If so, the plug-in hybrid covers your daily trips on electricity. If not, e-POWER gives the electric feel without the plug. And if the entry price comes first, the gas 2026 Rogue stays in the lineup. Our powertrain guide explains the differences in detail, and our comparison of the four Nissan SUVs helps you choose the right size.

How to reserve one in the network

Groupe Beaucage has five Nissan dealerships: Sherbrooke, Granby, Saint-Hyacinthe, Drummondville and Victoriaville. The first 2027 Rogue Hybrids, in the SR trim, are expected in the fall of 2026. To be among the first served, the simplest way is to leave your contact details with the dealership of your choice: it will call you when the trim you are interested in has an arrival date. Getting your current vehicle appraised right now also gives you an idea of your budget before it arrives.

Which new Nissan SUV: Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder or Armada?

Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder, Armada: four new Nissan SUVs that range from five to eight seats and from 8.3 to 15.7 litres per 100 kilometres in the city. The choice is not about style, it comes down to three numbers: the number of seats, the cargo volume when everyone is seated, and what you tow. And there is a fifth player that almost nobody places correctly: the plug-in hybrid Rogue, which has seven seats where the ordinary Rogue has five.
